Collectible Coins or Bag of Lies?
“[Scott] McClaine recommends that folks take these types of advertisements to a local coin shop and have them take a look at what’s being offered. You could save yourself a headache and perhaps find the same thing for much cheaper.”

Clatsop Coin celebrates numismatics, the “hobby of kings”
“Clatsop Coin owner Scott McClaine has so many interesting stories to tell about currency, its history, and coin collecting that even people who have never thought twice about coins (except to spend them) will get intrigued after chatting with him in his new storefront in downtown Astoria.”

Making the Dollar: Clatsop Coin Collecting & Supplies
“I have been collecting coins off and on since 1965. I served 28 years in the Coast Guard and have lived in Astoria since 1991. The idea for this came up when I was out sailing. One of the crewmen, who loved to instigate things, got us all thinking about what we wanted to do when we retired from the service. He suggested we take a hobby we love and turn it into a business. He said it would either make money or become a labor of love. I started this August of 2006. I started it because it is difficult for a hobbyist to find supplies such as coin books. I also feel I should put into action my belief that we are all given special talents and should share them with others.”
